Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

BTCPost ("BTCPost," "we," "us," or "our") is an independent premium shipping plugin for WooCommerce that connects your store to the Bitcoin Postage service. By accessing or using our website, the BTCPost plugin, or related services (the "Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

These Terms incorporate our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy by reference. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

2. Independence & Relationship with Bitcoin Postage

BTCPost is an independent product built on the open-source technology developed by Bitcoin Postage. We are an independent company and are not officially affiliated with or partnered with Bitcoin Postage.

  • Use of the plugin requires a separate, free Bitcoin Postage account, which you obtain directly from Bitcoin Postage
  • Bitcoin Postage is a third-party service governed by its own terms and policies, and powers carrier access, rate quoting, and label purchasing
  • We are not responsible for the availability, pricing, performance, or policies of Bitcoin Postage or any change it makes to its service
  • If you prefer the free, official plugin offered by Bitcoin Postage, that remains an available option

3. License

Subject to an active subscription, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the BTCPost plugin on the number of WooCommerce sites permitted by your plan (Single Site, Multi-Site, or Agency). The premium BTCPost layer is proprietary. Under this license you may not:

  • Use the plugin on more sites than your plan permits
  • Resell, sublicense, redistribute, or share your license key or the plugin
  • Attempt to decompile or reverse engineer the proprietary components
  • Remove any copyright or other proprietary notations
  • Use the Service for any unauthorized or unlawful purpose
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations

4. Subscriptions, Billing & Free Trial

Plugin subscription and license fees are billed through our third-party payment provider, Freemius, using standard payment methods such as credit or debit cards. The BTCPost website does not accept cryptocurrency for plugin subscriptions. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • A 14-day free trial is available and does not require a credit card
  • Paid plans are offered on a monthly or annual basis and are licensed per site according to the plan you select
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you may cancel at any time to stop future charges
  • Promotional or first-year pricing renews at the standard rate disclosed at checkout
  • Payment card details are collected and processed by Freemius under its own terms and privacy policy; we do not store full card details

5. Refunds

Paid plans include a 30-day money-back guarantee. Refund eligibility, exclusions, and the request process are described in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Carrier postage and label costs funded through Bitcoin Postage are pass-through costs and are not refundable by us.

6. Cryptocurrency & Postage Payments

Postage and shipping label costs are paid in Bitcoin through your separate Bitcoin Postage account — not through BTCPost. BTCPost does not process, hold, or have access to your cryptocurrency, wallet, or private keys. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Cryptocurrency transactions are irreversible once confirmed on the blockchain
  • You are solely responsible for the security of your wallet and private keys
  • BTCPost is not responsible for loss of funds due to user error, exchange rates, or security breaches on your end or on Bitcoin Postage
  • Cryptocurrency prices are volatile, and exchange rates are subject to market conditions
  • You are responsible for compliance with all applicable tax laws related to your cryptocurrency transactions

7. Shipping Services

BTCPost provides live carrier rate integration, label generation, and tracking automation for USPS, UPS, DHL, and Canada Post through your Bitcoin Postage account. You understand and agree that:

  • We are not responsible for carrier or Bitcoin Postage performance, delays, or package loss
  • Carrier liability limitations apply to all shipments
  • You are responsible for providing accurate package information and declared values
  • Shipping rates are set by the carriers and Bitcoin Postage and may change or fluctuate
  • Insurance claims must be filed directly with the carrier within their specified timeframes

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The plugin, materials, and services are provided "as is". BTCPost makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties including, without limitation, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We make no warranty regarding third-party services, including Bitcoin Postage, Freemius, WooCommerce, or the carriers.

9. Limitations of Liability

In no event shall BTCPost or its suppliers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use the plugin or Service, or arising from any third-party service, even if BTCPost has been notified of the possibility of such damage.

10. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, license key, and Bitcoin Postage API key, and for all activities that occur under your account or on your licensed sites. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

11. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use BTCPost for:

  • Illegal activities or in violation of any laws
  • Harassment, abuse, or harm to any person or group
  • Unauthorized access to any systems or networks
  • Distribution of malware or viruses
  • Fraud or deception
  • Reselling, sublicensing, or sharing license keys, or circumventing licensing or security measures

12. Modifications

BTCPost may revise these Terms of Service at any time without notice. By continuing to use the Service after such revisions, you agree to be bound by the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that location.
